Located in Winnetka, IL, and nestled in a charming neighborhood along the North Shore, this historic building has been hosting social gatherings since 1911 and proudly joined the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. There is a modern banquet hall for social and business gatherings up to 220 guests, as well as an historic assembly hall for smaller events. Tucked within the Community House is a beautiful garden with a hidden courtyard. It's one of the most timeless locations in all of Chicagoland - a true hidden gem! Tours are available by appointment only.
The Historic Garden & Indoor Garden Room Banquet Spaces
The modern Garden Room is appropriate for up to 220 guests cocktail style and up to 185 seated for dinner with a dance floor. The room features natural lighting from a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows and has 4 sets of French doors that open directly into the garden courtyard. Other features include beautiful custom wood paneling and adjustable ambient lighting. this room can be divided for smaller events or events that need separate spaces for breakout sessions or presentations.
The historic garden courtyard is encircled by brick columns and features a large inlayed bluestone and brick patio great for dining and dancing. There is also a large, arched breezeway designed for gathering and a social garden with built-in cedarwood bar that may function as a separate cocktail area if desired. At night, the courtyard comes to life with ambient spotlighting on the surrounding historic columns and trees.
The Historic Ballroom / Assembly Hall
This space is great for smaller gatherings of up to 75 guests seated at dinner tables or up to 150 guests with theater-style seating. It features high ceilings, large floor-to-ceiling gothic arched windows, and vintage brass chandeliers.
